Inter-School IT Competition

Technovation’ the Inter-School IT Competition was conducted by Gurukul Skylights for students of Classes 8 and 9. The event was conducted at Bombay Cambridge International School, Andheri (East). Students from schools across the city took part in the competition, representing their school.

Students were asked to select one topic out of 3 given to them. Using Microsoft PowerPoint, they had to prepare a presentation on the topic they selected and then present it to the judges.

Topics for selection were:

1. Wildlife in Maharashtra

2. Eco friendly lifestyle in the city

3. Autobiography of a crow in Mumbai

Dr. Parvish Pandya:   

Dr. Parvish Pandya is currently an Associate Professor in Zoology & Vice Principal, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's College, Andheri, Mumbai. He's also a Consultant Director for Natural History & Science, with Sanctuary Asia and Cub Magazines. He is an expert in birds, plants, mammals, reptiles... and more! For over three decades his greatest pleasure has been to share his love and knowledge of nature and spread conservation awareness to citizens' groups, students and the public at large.

Mr. Amit Phand:

Mr. Amit Phand is the co-founder and director of 'MOrE Core Learning Systems PVT LTD'. Projects undertaken by his company include developing learning solutions for higher education, developing learning eco systems for education based on gaming technologies, and creating and delivering content for K12 art education. He has 20 years of Experience in Computer Graphics and the Animation industry. He is also interested in training and teaching.

Ms. Ashvita Jacob:

Ms. Ashvita Jacob is Incharge-CEDP (Centre of Educational Design and publishing). The BCG Centre for Educational Design and Publishing (CEDP) designs and publishes both curricular content and other print media, used by the schools of Bombay Cambridge Gurukul. She has had more than 20 years of experience in the field of education in the areas of teaching, development of curricular material and designing publications in relation to education. She provides inputs to design curricular material for science. She has also worked on areas like movie making and designing of "Crossroads" a CD given to class 10 students as a farewell gift from school.
