Insight BCG organized ''Terpsichore", a dance Competition on 15th October 2016. The competition was conducted at Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya, Malad.
The dance performance needed to depict a fusion of 3 dance styles (any style from India or across the world). Tems had to choose the accompanying song to which they were dancing.
The winning team for Terpsichore 2016-17 was: Bombay Cambridge School, Andheri (West). Participants were Ajay Kadam, Geeta Pillai, Vidya Surve, Jyoti Bakshi, Nirmala Parab, Sanah Sayed, Farah Ansari, Satnam Kaur Denghi, Ajeeta Muley and Pratyuusha Punjabi.
A special menion certificate was awarded to the team of Bombay cambridge School, Andheri (East) for commendable performance. The team members were Olinda Malshete, Binaifer Damania, Sheetal Shah, Krusha Rathod, Roshni Choramale, Anupama Shenoy, Nasreen Khan, Shaivi Acharya, and Ramesh Koli.
The judges for the event were:
Vernon Enthiado: Vernon Enthiado began the journey of dance with being chosen by Farah Khan to participate in Kaal Dhamal with Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora Khan. The next part of the journey was acting opposite the Southern sensation Prabhudeva in a Telugu movie. Numerous Bollywood flicks and advertisements were soon bagged by him. He is one of the favourite background dancers for many prominent Bollywood choreographers such as Terence Lewis and Bosco-Ceasar. He also taught dance at Bosco Caesar Academy in Canada for 5 months, and soon he plans on starting dance classes of his own.
Namrata Wittke: Namrata Wittke has a lot of experience with many dance styles like Latin street styles, hip-hop, samba, salsa, cha cha etc.- the list is endless. She has danced with dance companies around the world. She has performed and done stage shows in India and abroad. She has also done commercials and music videos as lead dancer and choreographer. Namrata is also faculty at a few dance schools in Mumbai.
Namrata is also is the Producer and creative supervisor for TV channels like star, Zoom and Reliance Big Broadcasting. Namrata formed the company,
Rare Grooves Dance Company to bring dance to the people - through the avenues of performances, workshops, practice sessions they want to cultivate interest and talent.
Neha Singh: Neha Singh is an actor, writer, drama trainer, activist and blogger. She is a stage actor and loves performing in musicals. She is an author of children’s books and plays and has authored books published by Karadi Tales and Chakmak and written several plays for Teach for India. She has been spearheading “Why loiter? The movement” based on the book “Why loiter?” since May 2014. The movement intends to reclaim publics spaces in the city. She is currently training in the martial art form from Kerala, Kalari Payattu and hopes to be a kalari payattu instructor one day. She has performed at all the national theatre festivals across the country.
